Henry, a black and tan dog, first came to prominence in 1910 when he was
third in both the Limit and Open classes at Crufts, as well as
recording a third in the Limit class at the Manchester Championship Dog
Show. This earned him the KC Stud Book number 390Q.
At Manchester in 1913 he repeated this success, and also came 3rd in Limit
at Alexandra Palace and Richmond.
The following year he was a winner at Birmingham, coming 1st in Limit and
3rd in the Open class. He repeated the 3rd in Open win the following year
at Birmingham, but the Challenge Certificate eluded him, as his offspring
became more successful.
He sired a litter for Mrs. Oliphant's Chatley line, and was also mated with a bitch Henry Hylden bought and
in June 1911 produced a litter which was
to provide the first Brighton champions.
