THEREFORE PLEASE TREAT ALL ELECTRIC FENCES AS BEING LIVE. It would help if Competitors would attend the meet & be prepared to walk lines or provide line walkers for other competitors.NOTES FOR THOSE ATTENDING THESE TRIALSYou are advised to be at the Meet well before the first hound is due to start, since lines do not necessarily start in view of the Meet. For the benefit of late arrivals directions for the day will be left at the meet.Competitors unable to attend must notify the Working Trial Organiser by telephone as soon as possible. Competitors may exchange their lines by mutual agreement and prior notification of the Stake Manager. Competitors are advised to be prepared for their hounds to start earlier than listed, since, in the event of a cancellation, hounds will compete in the programme order without delay. Wherever possible, lines are arranged to give spectators a good view. Competitors must therefore await their lines where directed by the road marshal. Please arrive at the Meet half an hour before the first hound is due to start or report to the road marshal or manager one hour before your line is due to start. Permission has been granted for hounds to be tried over the trials ground, but not for their exercising or training. Please keep to public roads and paths except when handling, and keep hounds under control at all times. Keep roads, farm tracks and entrances clear, parking off the road on the same side as others. Close gates and avoid disturbing local residents, livestock, game and estate and farm work. Please note that if a farmer requires a hound to be leashed, regardless of whether it has a full permit or not, the stake manager will enforce this condition.Volunteers for walking lines would be welcomed by the Stake Manager. Line walkers should wear stout walking shoes (but not rubber boots), and must have a small item of cloth which has recently been kept in contact with the body, to leave as a smeller. Line walkers should be prepared to remain at the end of the line for the following times after the hound has begun to work:Novice 45 minutesJunior 1 hour and 15 minutesIntermediate 1 hour and 45 minutesSenior 2 hours or longer if askedThere is no official limit to the time that may be taken to complete a line, but the judge may have to leave a slow hound to start the next hound on time, break for lunch or to make his/her decisions at the end of the day.(R) denotes a hound with a restricted permit.Such hounds must be hunted on a leash and will be disqualified if the leash is dropped.Note: It is intended to have a line-up of three for identification in all stakes, except Novice. Spectators at the finish are asked to help by taking part.Trophies are to be presented at the prize giving each day, but must remain in the UK.Any member who is dissatisfied with the organisation of the Trials should lodge a written complaint with the Honorary Secretary by the last day of the Trials. (Ref KC Code of Practice for Objections and Appeals).
